Welcome to Theative
At Theative Performing Arts (pronounced Thee-ay-tiv), you'll find more than just dance classes.
Whether you're looking for toddler dance classes, children's ballet, tap, modern, acrobatics or musical theatre, or an adult beginners ballet class, you'll discover a welcoming community where every dancer is encouraged to create together, grow together and shine together.
Here, you'll be supported by passionate, highly trained teachers who take the time to know every dancer as an individual. Your child won't just learn great dance technique. They'll build confidence, develop creativity, grow in resilience, make lasting friendships and discover what they're're capable of in a safe, nurturing environment where every achievement is celebrated.
Whether dancing simply for the joy of it or working towards performances, examinations and exciting opportunities to develop their skills even further, every dancer is encouraged to progress at a pace that's right for them. Because when every dancer feels seen, supported and celebrated, they don't just become better dancers, they leave every class standing a little taller, smiling a little brighter and believing a little more in themselves.

What people say about Theative
Such a fab dance class with amazing teachers. Our daughters have been attending Theative classes for several years now and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Thank you everyone at Theative for providing such a great environment and for helping to improve not only dance skills but general confidence and for all of the hard work that goes into this.

Theative Performing Arts have being amazing in improving my daughter and son's confidence. I can even see the positive impact of ballet on my son's movement and balance when he plays different sports at school.
My daughter started in the story time ballet class as a toddler and now does ballet, tap, modern, musical theatre and acrobatics at Theative! She simply loves it!
Miss Amy and her team are perfect with children, they have patience and a lot of great ideas to inspire and share. ❤️

My 11 year old daughter has been attending ballet here since she was 2 years old and has really loved every lesson.
She has taken part in some wonderful stage shows which helped her confidence to dance in front of an audience. She is now getting ready to take her grade 3 Ballet exam with the RAD.
She loves dancing with Theative!

Their Sparkle Stories

Ariana
Growing Through Every Challenge
When Ariana first joined Theative at just two years old, she couldn't wait to dive into every adventure. Whether she was helping to bring our Story Time Ballet tales to life, sharing imaginative ideas or dancing with the biggest smile on her face, her love of learning was obvious from the very beginning.
Over the years, that same enthusiasm has grown into something even more special. Ariana approaches every class with determination, curiosity and a genuine desire to improve. She embraces feedback, works consistently hard and understands that every correction is another opportunity to learn. It's this positive attitude and growth mindset that have helped her continue to flourish year after year.
Today, Ariana dances in Ballet, Modern and Acro, has proudly performed in every Theative show and has worked her way through multiple ballet and modern examinations. Watching her perform is a joy, not simply because of how much she has achieved, but because of the dedication, resilience and love of dance she brings to every rehearsal, every lesson and every performance.
As Ariana prepares to begin an exciting new chapter at secondary school, we're incredibly proud of the wonderful young person she has become. We know this is only the beginning of her story, and we can't wait to watch her continue to grow, discover new opportunities and keep finding her sparkle for many years to come.

Maddy
Finding Her Confidence
When Maddy joined Theative at just two years old, she was a quiet, thoughtful little girl who loved dance but found new experiences a little overwhelming. As she grew older, she wasn't quite ready to take those first independent steps into class, so together with her Dad, we gave her the time, encouragement and support she needed to build her confidence at her own pace.
One of the biggest turning points came when Maddy attended her very first Theative holiday camp. Although she was the youngest dancer there and understandably a little hesitant at first, it wasn't long before she was joining in with games, making new friends and proudly taking to the stage for the end of week performance. That week marked the beginning of a wonderful transformation.
Since then, Maddy has continued to grow in confidence with every class, performance and holiday camp. She still approaches new challenges with courage, but now she embraces them with determination too, working hard in class, thoughtfully applying every correction and never letting nerves stop her from giving her very best. Her recent Disctinction result for her RAD Grade 2 Ballet Exam is a wonderful reflection of the commitment and resilience she brings to every lesson.
Watching Maddy's confidence blossom over the years has been an absolute privilege. Her journey reminds us that every child grows at their own pace, and when they feel safe, supported and truly seen, they discover the confidence to achieve things they never thought possible. We can't wait to see where Maddy's sparkle takes her next.

Ella
Igniting a Love for Dance
When Ella joined Theative, she was a little reserved. She's naturally thoughtful, patient and conscientious, quietly taking everything in before giving something her all. But when the music starts and it's time to dance, that's when you really see her sparkle.
She approaches every class with focus, enthusiasm and a genuine desire to do everything to the best of her ability. She practises at home, remembers what she's learnt from week to week and is always excited to discover what comes next. In less than one year with us she has already taken her first ballet exam, is looking forward to her Modern and Tap exams in the coming term, performed at her first holiday camp and can't wait to step onto the stage in her first Theative show.
At our Wicked Summer Camp, Ella's commitment, kindness and determination shone throughout the week, earning her one of our Gold Awards. Her journey is a wonderful reminder that every child shines in their own way, and that sometimes the quietest children have the brightest sparkle of all. We can't wait to watch her story continue.

Carmen
It's Never Too Late to Begin
Having spent years watching her daughter dance, Carmen decided it was finally time to step into the studio herself. Although she joined us as an absolute beginner, she embraced every class with commitment, determination and a willingness to keep learning.
Week by week, her confidence, strength, stamina and technique have continued to grow, proving that progress comes from consistency, not perfection.
Last year, Carmen stepped onto the stage in our theatre show alongside two fellow adult ballet dancers. Surrounded by a cast of children, it took real courage to put on a tutu and perform in front of a live audience, but she embraced every moment with confidence and pride.
Carmen's story is a reminder that ballet isn't just for children. Whether you've always dreamed of dancing, or you're simply looking for something that's just for you, it's never too late to discover your sparkle. And this is only the beginning of her journey.
