Performing Arts in Streatham | Children's Dance Classes in South London
On Sunday 6th July, Theative Performing Arts proudly presented our Summer Show: Elemental — a stunning celebration of Earth, Air, Water and Fire through dance, acrobatics and musical theatre.
Set onstage at Lambeth College Theatre, Elemental showcased the energy, artistry and heart of our young performers and adult beginners from our dance and performing arts classes in Streatham.
With each routine themed around one of the four elements, the show offered an exciting and varied mix of styles (ballet, modern, tap, musical theatre and acrobatics) woven together into a powerful theatrical experience.
Four Elements. One Incredible Day.
From the gentle grace of our cloudlike ballet to the power-packed punch of our fiery modern numbers, Elemental was filled with contrast, colour and movement. While the dances didn’t follow a single storyline, the element themes gave each piece a distinctive atmosphere, helping our performers explore everything from fluidity and weightlessness to strength and stillness.
Confidence. Commitment. Community.
For many of our dancers, this was their very first show, and we were blown away by their bravery and focus onstage. Others returned to the theatre with new maturity, technical growth, and stage presence that showed just how powerful dance training can be.
This show reminded us why we do what we do: not just to teach steps, but to help young people grow in confidence, creativity and joy. Our shows are never about being perfect; they’re about showing up, doing your best, and celebrating the journey.
At Theative, we believe in inclusive performing arts for children of all ages, and our summer show is always a shining example of what happens when students feel safe, supported and inspired.
